Liar’s Club

Objective: Improving extemporaneous speaking while using speech targets.

Description: This activity can be used individually or in group therapy formats. In an individual session, have the client write out three little known facts about themselves; two that are true and one that is a fabrication. The client must read each statement aloud and the clinician guesses which two are true.

In a group setting, a single statement is read which is true for only one of three group members. The clients are questioned by others to determine who is lying and who is telling the truth.
